Why would the city of Minnesota settle with Philando Castile's family if Jeronimo Yanez did no w

After being shot and killed last year by a Minnesota police officer after complying with the officer's request to produce his identification, the family of slain educator, Philando Castile has reached a $3 million settlement with the city. This settlement comes days after a jury acquitted Jeronimo Yanez of second-degree manslaughter and two counts of intentional discharge of a firearm that endangers safety despite the officer being unprovoked and shooting into the vehicle with a child present in the backseat who witnessed the killing. It appears that in Minnesota, a police officer only needs to feel threatened by the color of a citizens skin to be justified in killing them. It's worth noting that the city decides to settle with Castile's family while the jury on the case acquits Jeronimo Yanez of any wrongdoing. The jury not only failed Philando Castile's family with this Jim Crow type ruling but also their entire minority community of Minnesota.
