11-Year old dies inside hot car on the family’s driveway

An 11-year-old girl with an apparent disability was left behind inside the car after her mother and two other siblings had just come back from a shopping trip. The mother and other two kids went inside the house unaware that she was left behind. Once the mother noticed she wasn’t in the house, she found her daughter passed out inside the hot car. She was taken to Stony Brook Hospital, in Coram, Long Island where later she was pronounced dead.

Hot car deaths are an unfortunate reality and so far in 2018 there have been 37 pediatric vehicular heatstroke deaths in the U.S. Please be sure to double check your vehicle when driving with children and pets to ensure they are not left inside!
