Unpaid medical bills affect your credit

In a 2016 research published by the journal Health Affairs, a peer-reviewed education authority in health and healthcare analysis mentioned that in the U.S. 16 percent of credit reports contained at least one medical bill in collections. The demographics of most of these pointed out that people in their 60’s were least likely to have medical bills under a collections agency than those in that were in their late 20’s. What to do if you receive any medical bills?

-Don’t ignore bills when they arrive and pile them up with all your other mail.

-Revise each bill you get to ensure you are being properly charged.

-Call the healthcare facility billing you if you need to make arrangements. Most hospitals and clinics have lenient policies and will work with you.
