A man steps in front of a machete-wielding man to save a woman

27-year-old Blaine Hodge has been given the title of “hero” after he allegedly stopped a man who was wielding a machete and was about to attack a woman.

While he was at a Starbucks in Bakersfield, CA a woman ran inside frantically claiming the man was going to kill her. When Blane saw everyone else running away, he did the exact opposite. He ran toward the man and stopped him from causing damage to anyone else.

Though Hodge got a few blows and needed over 200 stitches, he made it alive and was recently released from a local hospital. The woman ended up receiving some stabs and is in critical condition.

The suspect was identified as Robert Daniel Rivas of age 31.
